What is Mantra?

Mantra is a sacred utterance, a numinous sound, a syllable, word or phonemes, or group of words believed by practitioners to have religious, magical or spiritual powers. Mantra, which has power to transform the surroundings. "मननात् त्रायते इति मन्त्रः" (mananāt trāyate iti mantraḥ) translates to "By the repetition of which one is protected, that is a mantra". The mantra has fulfill three criteria, those are

1. The power to transform internal and external surroundings. It should uplift your thoughts, emotions, and transcending the negativity, and connects our to mind to a higher state of being.

2. Mantra should be beyond human creation. "अपौरुषेयं वाक्यं वेदः" (apauruṣeyaṃ vākyaṃ vedaḥ) translates to "Which has not been authored by any human intellect". It is received from divine consciousness by enlighten beings.

3. Mantra should have power to Invocate the divine energy, that is devatā, a shining one. A universal power or deity.
